Welcome !!

My name is Geetika and I majored in Information Systems. I was always a minority in my classes, being one of the only female students in most of my computer classes, but nothing ever inspired me more than technology and how it changes and builds businesses. I am here to talk about what matters to me the most, from technology to world issues, all that I care about.

Mark the date for TechGirlz

If you know a personal trainer or an ardent athlete, you know how much the gym matters to them. Making sure that they run those 2 miles a day or do some sort of training is their priority.

Similarly innovators are constantly trying to make something, project their idea, bring it to life and that’s one of their priority. Next Fab Studios located in the National Science Center in Philadelphia is a gym to those people. The home page says, “NextFab studio is a membership-based, high tech workshop and prototyping center – it’s Philadelphia’s gym for innovators.”

And sometimes, you need that extra push to know that you are an innovator. That’s where Techgirlz comes in. Techgirlz in collaboration with Next Fab is hosting an event for middle school girls where they learn to craft with technology and use it harness their techy side. The event is free for all and just has 15 open spots. It will be held in Next Fab Studios on November 13 from 11am-3pm, so if you are a parent and reading this, sign up NOW!

For more information go to http://techgirlz.org/events.

The motto is simple, we believe that every girl has a creative side and technology is just a way to explore it. There is always more to computers than coding, and the earlier they are introduced to what all computers have to offer, the more open they will be to the abundant career choices there are in the technical field.

Being a techgirl is the new cool thing to do.
